2. Hosting and visiting our website
Our website is hosted by STRATO GmbH, Otto-Ostrowski-Straße 7, 10249 Berlin, Germany. When you visit it, technically necessary connection and access data are processed. These include, in particular, your IP address, access date and time, requested files, information about your browser and operating system and, where applicable, the page previously visited.
This processing serves to deliver our website and maintain secure and stable operation. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest is to provide our website securely and reliably. STRATO processes hosting data as a service provider on our behalf.
According to STRATO, visitors’ IP addresses are stored for a maximum of seven days to detect and prevent attacks. Further information: STRATO privacy notice.
3. Contact and bookings
If you contact us by email or telephone, we process the information you provide, such as your name, contact details, travel dates, number of guests and message. We use these data to answer your enquiry and, where applicable, to prepare and fulfil a booking.
The legal basis for booking enquiries and contract performance is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR. We handle other enquiries on the basis of our legitimate interest in communicating with prospective guests under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Where statutory retention duties apply, further storage is based on Article 6(1)(c) GDPR.
Enquiry data are deleted once the matter has been dealt with and further storage is no longer required for a booking, legal obligations or the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims. Contract and billing documents are retained for the applicable statutory retention periods.
Providing your information is voluntary. However, without the data required to reply or process a booking, we cannot handle the enquiry or contract.
4. Availability calendar and administration
Our public availability calendar shows available, booked and unavailable periods, as well as arrival and departure dates. Guests’ names and contact details are not published there.
The internal booking administration is password-protected. Booking information stored there is used to organise lettings. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR. Storage is subject to the criteria described under “Contact and bookings”.
5. Cookies and visitor statistics
Our own visitor pages do not use analytics, marketing or advertising cookies or additional tracking tools. We do not use visitor statistics.
A technically necessary session cookie is used to log in to the protected administration area. It identifies the session and keeps the user logged in. It is set as a session cookie and is generally deleted at the end of the browser session; the browser may restore it when restoring a session.
This necessary cookie is used on the basis of section 25(2), no. 2 TDDDG. Insofar as personal data are processed, this is based on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest is secure access control for the administration area.
6. Google Maps
Our directions page contains an external link to Google Maps. A Google map is not automatically loaded on our own pages. A connection to Google is established only when you follow the link. Google then receives, in particular, your IP address and technical connection data.
Google’s processing is governed by its privacy notice.
7. ERGO Reiseversicherung
On our travel cancellation insurance page, we provide a link to an external insurance offer from ERGO Reiseversicherung. This offer is loaded in the right-hand content area of our website only after the link is clicked. The left-hand navigation remains visible.
From that point, a direct connection is established to ERGO and, where applicable, the service providers integrated by ERGO. Your IP address and technical connection data, among other information, are transmitted. The link also contains our partner identifier to attribute the offer.
Displaying the insurance offer within our website does not mean that we operate its form. Information entered there is processed within the external insurance application. It may use its own cookies, consent requests and additional services. The description of our own cookies above does not apply to that external application.
Please refer to the information displayed within the insurance offer and the ERGO Reiseversicherung privacy notice.
8. Your rights
Subject to the statutory requirements, you have the right to access your personal data, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and data portability. You may withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future.
Where data are processed on the basis of Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, you may object to this processing on grounds relating to your particular situation.
To exercise your rights, please contact us using the details above.
9. Right to complain
You have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority if you believe that the processing of your personal data infringes data protection law.
In Baden-Württemberg, the authority is the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information Baden-Württemberg. Information and contact details are available at www.baden-wuerttemberg.datenschutz.de.
